The Neosho Wildlife Perserve is on the Midwest migratory flyway and temporary home to thousands of waterfowl as they make their journey southward. The sky would darken as koots and mallards rose from the water, frightened by god knows what. Brother David, C.P. from St. Francis Monastery, a avid bird-watcher, would take novices here when these migrations were in progress. One such day we were observing the take-off patterns of a drake when Brother David told us to look at the island to the left. On it, in all its glory, stood a lone pelican. Go figure.

Hunting killer its setup NC for hunting .

I love this place. In the fall and spring this wildlife area is a wonder of nature. The most powerful sight at this wildlife refuge was the GIANT pelicans migrating. I never realized just how large they are. Driving around the refuge is fun and exciting. You don't have to be a hunter to enjoy this vision of REAL LIFE.
